It's time for unions to shut the City of Boston down.
The Mayor and the Governor colluded to mobilize City police, sanitation workers, EMTs, and State Police to break up an OWS protest site with Veterans for Peace.

Reports include:

Veterans beaten.

Camp broken up, signs, tents, protesters property dumped in garbage trucks.

Media told to leave, EMTs setting up tents for casualties.

This is not good.

Boston Unions, where are you?

Mobilize SOUTHIE!

angrily,
Bright

9. I guess this is it...
time to see if the OWS folks have some popular support or not. Time to see if the public has the cajones to show some solidarity.

Hope 2.0 ... (it pretty well failed the first time around)

19. This is indeed it. Time to put our bodies on the line. I'll be heading
down to Occupy LA downtown tomorrow. To quote the late, great Mario Savio:

"There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part. And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all." UC-Berkeley, 1964

11. I think these protests are just the first layer...
...of America rising up.

There are a whole lot of people--like me--who are not out in these protests. However, we are totally
supportive and not in the dark about the corporate corruption of our democracy. We are disgusted
by the banks and how they escaped accountability and we're DONE with the corporations buying
legislation from our corrupt, broken politicians!!

I am participating in the bank opt-out day. I am moving my money to a credit union.

If this movement gives people like me, things to do--we will do them.

I think this is the direction that we need to take. Give specific directions about which
companies we need to stop purchasing from and supporting.

I don't rule out joining a protest, but it is a daunting proposition for some. However, people
like me will do other things---things that could really take down these banks and corporations
that have totally perverted our democracy with their dirty money and corruption.

Just my 2 cents.

American Revolution. Let it begin now. Time for the cops (PIGS?) to decide whose side they're on: the 99% (working class) or the 1% (the ruling class).

GENERAL STRIKE NOW! NO BUSINESS AS USUAL!

37. We can shut the city down
from the privacy of our own home.

Exercise your constitutional rights to make your voice heard. Call the mayor, the president of the city council, and each and every city council member to complain. If a couple of hundred thousand people do that on the same day, the city hall is effectively shut down.
