3. No. It's an apt description. A purposeless mass that GROWS for no reason but to grow.... |
|
..even when its pointless growth will ultimately KILL the being that it is an organ of?
Yeah, that's a simple description of CANCER.
That's the Right Wing, and that's the lump on my CAT scan. If our society is a living thing, they are a cancer upon it.

8. Why would using a metaphor be wrong, especially an apt metaphor? |
|
The aptness of the metaphor is striking. I only wish repukes used metaphors rather than incite violence.

10. I feel its apt yet dehumanizing, but |
|
where else is there to go. its a failed ideology based on fear, hate, and death. I'm truly seeing these people differently and i don't know where that's leading me to tell the truth.

13. Describing people as cancer is dehumanizing however describing RW |
|
neo-con ideology as a cancer isn't.
Earlier I read a OP about Glenn Beck targeting an 80 yr old sociology professor and blaming her for the state of the economy, as a result she has rec'd death threats. That itself is shocking, preposterous and disgusting but other vile remarks he made were numbing. I've never cared to listen to Beck, I knew he was an ignorant and dangerous but wasn't prepared to read his rants so I understand your comment about seeing them differently.

Right wing, Republican, teabagger..... a dis-ease. Both spread into healthy vital parts. Both are deadly if left untreated.

15. OK, but there are better metaphors |
|
The difference is that cancer isn't generally contagious, nor does it drive the cancer victim to behavior that will help spread the cancer.
The Ebola virus is a more apt metaphor. While victims are dying, they spew large amounts of the virus into the environment around them.

If you're not doing so, though, I think it's just another piece of political rhetoric.
