1. You don't want business to donate to public radio?

10. Why do you think they control it?
If they do really control it, why are you listening to it?

We have public radio here in the south that is also supported by business dollars and ads. Some of the businesses are probably pro-tea party. I'm not going to toss out the baby with the bathwater. The public radio here is pretty decent.

21. Control what?
If you are going to sound foolish, at least provide more background on why you say foolish stuff.

29. Hate to break it to ya, but most public radio money already comes from...
...underwriting from corporations and non-profit foundations. It's been that way for a long, long time.

Next, I believe is from listener donations and finally a comparatively piddly amount from the guv'ment (far less than the wingnuts would lead you to believe).

20. Isn't that position closed minded. There are ethical, liberal business people
all over the USA. There are many ethical, moderate business people that give time and money to important causes. You worldview is one where the nose is cut off to spite the face.

12. Looks like the model is merely topless, she appears to be wearing panties
Seems to me to be a rather sexually mild image, and tastefully done, (even if her partial nudity was not really necessary), with no direct display of any of her "naughty bits".

19. she looks anorexic and unhappy to me
or is that look supposed to be 'sultry'?

I don't think I'm a prude at all, but I find that image rather unappealing. I suspect it wasn't meant to appeal to me.

Either way, I disagree with the O.P, as mentioned by someone above that is more likely iTunes software choosing that ad.

22. Looks good to me. Lots of women and men that make contributions
to life start out as models. Get a grip, the young woman is just modeling. Maybe she is using the money earned to pay her way through college.

23. Neither do I. I will either buy the jewelry or not buy it.
A model who I have never met and likely will not meet would not influence my decision for one second.

17. I listen to MN public radio all the time and I've never seen any "picture".
However, when I click my saved link in iTunes I hear this message:

"If you enjoy this audio service please support it with a financial contribution. Just click "Support This Program" to contribute, and thanks."

I don't see anything 'wrong' with the picture.

Regardless of whether you like it or not, the men that buy the watches that the retailer find the woman in the photo attractive. I know I do.

Perhaps if individual people donated more to MPR, then they wouldn't have to solicit commercial sponsors:shrug:

Some "individuals" want everything done their way and will not contribute a nickel to the maintenance of mediums that convey messages that are pleasing to them. I view that mindset as hypocritical and the adherents of it as weak.

30. Unrec. Definitely NSFW
I don't appreciate that image being linked here with no explanation.

Yes I realize it's 'soft porn' but an explanation would have been most appropriate.

It's not porn. It's a jeweler's website for christssakes.

34. It's *NOT* "soft porn"; it's pretty standard European advertising.
Over there, they don't seem to get quite as uptight over
images as we do here and it's quite common to see
such representations.
