38. While traveling.
I'm in South Africa now. A couple nights ago at a hostel, I was chatting with the guy on duty. I mentioned the Occupy movement, which he'd never heard of. When I left, he was checking it out on the net. Said it was interesting.

We're both kibbutz veterans

http://www.daylife.com is a page for a Cloud publishing "publisher suite."

Sorry for the typo in my original question; I did originally go to daylife.com, but like I said, there are no photos on that page, or any obvious connection to particular photos.

However, when I click on a link that says, "Looking for the old site?", it takes me to a page where I can at least search for something.

So I search for "Occupy Wall Street," and I get some appropriate photos.

These photos have individual links; e.g., http://news.daylife.com/photo/0a0Zc3XgYLbHr?__site=daylife&q=Occupy+Wall+Street .

So I'd just like to request people to at least consider providing the actual, individual links for photos they use.

I might like to re-publish them, so they might be seen by more eyes -- that would be a good thing, no? -- but I prefer to source them.

Thanks.

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/wall-street-protests-spread-city-london-030408843.html

In Italy's capital up to 200,000 protesters took to the streets.

Police fired tear gas and used water cannons after shop windows were smashed and cars set on fire in isolated incidents.

19. Police brutality in times of protest
In times of peaceful occupation here in Britain, there can often be cases of police antagonism in times of protest (see: Mencacingly Rolling towards Ben Brown in my wheelchair among other incidences). We have a governmental epetition at the moment that definitely requires a huge increase in the number if signatures on it in order for it to get a hearing -

http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/14574

We would be very grateful if you would sign it.

As corrupt and oppressive as the West has gotten in the past few years, protesting the government and the economy in China is a whole different ball game. Hope everyone stays safe.

It was the first political protest in my life. I talked with lots of other people who also said it was their first time protesting.

It felt great to be out there with other like-minded people with a common just cause.

considering the fact that at least where I live (San Bernardino, California) most people don't seem to know it's happening yet. If they aren't connected to the Internet, and even if they are but don't frequent political sites like DU, many people are oblivious to the fact that anything is happening at all.

A couple of examples: I asked my next-door neighbor if she realized there is a global revolution going on right now, and she didn't have a clue! She and her family are living hand to mouth and don't have cable or dependable Internet access. But I also asked the owner of a bakery I frequent the same question, and he didn't know either until I told him. He just installed wireless Internet in the bakery and has had cable there for a while now, but I guess he just doesn't know where to look.

What are these crowds going to be like when more people find out about Occupy Everywhere?
