California Attorney General asks feds for restraint on medical pot

SAN FRANCISCO -- Federal prosecutors should be careful not to overreach in their crackdown on California's pot dispensaries, even though there are ambiguities in the state's medical marijuana laws, the state attorney general said Thursday.

The law passed 15 years ago by California voters has ambiguities that must be resolved either by the state Legislature or the courts, state Attorney General Kamala Harris said in a statement.

However, Harris said she was worried that "an overly broad federal enforcement campaign will make it more difficult for legitimate patients to access physician-recommended medicine in California."

7. Agreed!
I saw her and the whole democratic ticket the day before the election. It was the first time I'd seen her in person and she did impress!

She won against an incumbent and entrenched repub.

5. Kick
I can't understand how, in a time when we apparently need to slash budgets and cut, cut, cut in the name of "austerity", there's still buckets full of cash to pay for Million-dollar-an-hour DEA helicopters buzzing all over humboldt country, or to pay for heavily armed swat teams to drag cancer grannies off to prison because they have a joint in their hand.

Fucking enough already. Pot prohibition is an expensive, cruel, stupid joke that we simply CAN'T AFFORD ANYMORE.
