A poem: This is the House that “We the People” Built (dial-up warning)
Edited on Mon Jan-17-11 11:57 PM by Generic Other
I wanted to share a poem I wrote this week. I may try recording it on video and posting to Youtube. Any suggestions for additional editing? Comment please! DIAL-UP WARNINGS.

************************************************

This is the House that “We the People” Built.

This is the gun, both deadly and feared,
that’s locked and loaded
and aimed at the house that “We the People” built.

This is the man, both angry and scared,
who aims the gun, both deadly and feared,

that’s locked and loaded and aimed
at the house that “We the People” built.

This is the politician waving the flag, who makes the speech,

to win the vote of the man, both angry and scared,

who fires the gun, both deadly and feared,
that’s locked and loaded

and aimed at the house that “We the People” built.

This is the talking head who rants and screams

at the politicians, who make the speeches,

to win the vote of the man, both angry and scared,

who aims the gun, both deadly and feared,

that’s locked and loaded and aimed at the house
that “We the People” built.

This is the TV screen where citizens watch the violence unfold,

as the media spins and politicians howl,

to win the vote of the man, both angry and scared,
http://www.gunblogs.org/gallery/d/71-1/Second+Amendment+Housewives.jpg

who aims the gun, both deadly and feared,
that’s locked and loaded and aimed at the house
that “We the People” built.

This is the scene of mayhem and murder,
where bullets fly and everyone ducks,

as citizens watch, while the media reports and politicians argue

over what makes the man so angry and scared,
who aims the gun, both deadly and feared,

that’s locked and loaded
and aimed at the house that “We the People” built.

This is the cop who must respond to the calls

of frantic citizens with bloodsoaked hands,
who witness the crimes and hear the reports

and look to their leaders and ask

why the unhinged man, so angry and scared,
fires a gun, both deadly and feared,

that’s locked and loaded
and aimed at the house that “We the People” built.

This is the paramedic who must bandage the wounds

of innocent victims killed by fanatics who the cops must disarm,

as citizens watch, while cameras roll, and Congress makes speeches

to win the vote of the crazy gunman, so angry and scared,

who aims the weapon, both deadly and feared,
that’s locked and loaded and aimed at the house
that “We the People built.

This is the child caught in the crossfire
who bleeds and dies in the EMT’s arms,

while the cops in armor handcuff the man
that citizens see on the evening news,

while pundits shift blame and politicians point fingers,

as they try and explain why a random shooter, so angry and scared,

can aim a gun, both deadly and feared, that’s locked and loaded
and aimed at the house that “We the People” built.

This is the cemetery where the coffin is covered
with flowers and tears for the child who is dead,

who paramedics couldn’t save or policemen protect,

as we watch all the pundits bicker and rage

and the politicians grandstand and gesture,

as yet another man, angry and scared, takes aim with his gun, both deadly and feared,

that’s locked and loaded and aimed at the house
that “We the People” built.

1. This is the effect of economic guns used against society.

There is much dignity in the people in those photos at that link. That dignity did not come from their poverty, nor their hardships, but inspite of it.

On a side note, if you blame Sara, you don't understand that she is doing her best, although she may be following some concepts that could be better, most of us do that same stuff, and also could do better.

Again I am against some of the people behind her. Good and bad in everyone.

5. She has Munchausen by proxy!
"if you blame Sara, you don't understand that she is doing her best" DOING HER BEST!!! Are you kidding me????? At what? Pretending to be a victim?

She marches around playing Grizzly MILF with her big pistol-packing mama schtick, and when her inflammatory shit riles up her nutcase base, she appropriates the misery and pain of the victims as her own--isn't that Munchhausen by proxy? She attacks others and when they lie bleeding, she elicits sympathy for their pain for herself. She accuses the left of slandering her personally when she is the one who created her own bad press, her own ugly persona, her own notoriety. She acts like any criticism of her is an attack on our country, as if she is the shining voice of Democracy the freaking statue of liberty personified. While she may be as hollow as the statue, she is still dangerous to us all.

She's a harpy from hell. I don't appreciate her putting anyone on the left in her crosshairs.

9. Within her limitations, she means well.
Edited on Tue Jan-18-11 01:07 AM by RandomThoughts
I am saying she is a victim of the thought that she is a victim, and a few other things.

I would not choose what she does, although I make different mistakes, but also do not think it is because she thinks much about it. She would not have been picked by the groups that want her in the news all the time, if she thought and felt a long time about what goes on.

Or she is in a phase of trying to work within a system to do some good.

What I am saying is she is repeating what she has been told is true, so from the concept that those that told her wrong things are to blame, or those that have not helped her to think and feel on the concepts, it is the groups behind her that is the problem.

My point is this, I am not going to get mad or angry at her, when everything people know about her is from what people tell her to say, or what people taught her is correct. And might not even be about what she thinks or feels. To banter around about Sara, and not know it is about the ideologies behind her, is to go after cardboard cut outs.

On a side note, if she is talking in code, Shatner repeated her message to everyone, think on that a bit :D (Just being nice to someone in a tough situation)

It works like this.

Prop up someone that can be destroyed easily, and when they are hurt or defamed, the organizations they support get hurt.

She is a straw man.

11. She knows what she's doing--female manipulative stereotype

Not pretty at all. Total drama queen and beauty pageant contestant looking for any validation from the boys. Acts like a high school teenager--a very immature one--since I have known many teens who were brighter and better-equipped for public speaking.

And she thinks this is enough to carry her to the White House on a bearskin rug!

12. Ok let me make it simplier.
The Sara conversations are so you don't look or think about the problems in society.

Not going to spend time getting mad at some lady in Alaska that happens to be on the news alot. That really is not that relevant.

7. Thanks LoneStar
We defenders of the left on DU go back a way. And many of us have lost our spirit a bit. But our principles haven't wavered any.

18. Put This on Another Site
Can you put this on another site where it could be accessible to people who don't look at DU? Maybe reduce the size of the photos a bit. I'd like to send it to friends.
