We aren't going to get help from the Democrats inside the beltway bubble. Too many of them are just as beholden to the same slimy, greedy special interests that the Republicans are. It was a handful of corporate Democrats who destroyed the public option that would have made the health care bill something to be proud. Because of them, private health insurers are still running a racket. But those senators will still get their bribes large corporate campaign contributions. Even the corporate Democrat who lost her bid for re-election was last seen ignobly taking a job as a lobbyist for a conservative firm.

The system is too corrupt to respond to a popular movement. We're really on our own.
