Abortion in cases of rape and incest.... |
|
I'm watching Rachel right now, and she's discussing the RW position on abortion.
If those fucking people really believe all that shit about "life from the moment of conception" and all that shit about "soul", they should ALL be against abortion even in cases of rape and incest.
If sperm meets egg and makes a legal person, then the circumstances of that meeting don't change the fact that a person is created, and the Fundies should ALL support the extreme position... no abortion no matter the circumstances.
Rachel is interviewing a woman from Mississippi about a movement there to outlaw all abortions. I gotta wonder... if a white woman is raped by a black man, and a pregnancy results... is that a "no abortion" thing, too. I can just see white Susie Cheerleader from Biloxi bouncing the half-black result of rape on her knee at the grandparents house.
All this presumes that Fundies have a coherent, consistent belief system, of course.

3. I'm alive because my married parents |
|
and my near dead mother who had miscarried, had a father who took her to another hospital that wasn't Catholic. She nearly died from sepsis from a miscarriage, but the Catholic hospital wouldn't administer treatment.
They nearly let her *die* because "they couldn't tell". God only knows how she managed to have me afterwards.
It's insanity.

4. I believe that the current backlash and War On Women |
|
is about this:
The RW wants women OUT of the professional workplace and higher education.
Women who cannot choose when, where and how many children to have, cannot compete in the professional workplace and higher education.
They want to remove the competition.
THIS is the GOTP Jobs Plan.

5. Whenever someone brings up a hypothetical rape scenario, why is the rapist always black? |
|
Are they saying that getting raped is a bad thing, but getting raped by a black man is even worse?

11. But a redneck didn't write this. You did. Unless... |
|
You started an OP about abortion. But then decided to bring race into it by posing a "white" woman getting raped by a "black" man, which indicates that, in your view, a woman getting raped by a man and becoming pregnant makes abortion desirable, but a "white" woman getting raped by a "black" man and becoming pregnant makes abortion that much more desirable.
what I'm getting at, is abortion can be discussed without bring your racial qualifiers into it.

8. you're behind the times the Georgia House has proposed exactly that |
|
That all abortion is murder and woman can be charged with felony murder if they have an abortion even in another state if they are a Georgia state resident... In the same session they proposed that Forcible rape be reclassified a misdemeanor unwanted sexual penetration.
And here I thought it would be South Carolina that would try this first....

12. It's too cruel to force a woman to carry the child of a rapist to term. |
|
If she wants to, then that's a whole different matter. But in cases of rape, that is definitely one of the times where an abortion is justified if the lady involved wants it.
