8. All those pictures of peaceful protesters went to waste
when they let a bunch of assholes start violence and set fires. Stuff like that is going to turn the public opinion against the whole movement it short order. How can I say I support the OWS when they start stuff like that.

13. You can start by being able to distinguish the wheat from the chaff or you can be a tool,
it's your choice.

Any movement can be co-opted by a few idiots; eager and willing to start trouble because they're natural morons or they're police plants used to undermine a movement's credibility, perspective is critical, if the vast majority of people are waging or promoting violence and vandalism then you might have a point, but that's far from the case with the growing world wide OWS movement.

Edited on Thu Nov-03-11 03:30 PM by doc03
Faux this morning, it looked like the riots in Greece. Who knows maybe they did play video from Greece, they've done stuff like that before. Don't underestimate the power of Faux News, it is by far the most watched cable news channel. Maybe One thing you could do to stop the idiots is ban anyone covering their face up.

Considering this movement like all movements rest their foundation on the First Amendment, how do you propose requiring someone to take a mask off in order to protest?

The only solutions I have is for the Occupier Movement to stay peaceful by their language, verbiage on their signs, actions and to cooperate with any investigating police regarding incidents of violence or vandalism.

The Occupiers can tell and encourage anyone showing up not to wear masks or at the very least to demonstrate peacefully but short of violence, I don't know any way stop them from doing so.

17. Simple if you have people in the crowd with their face covered
Edited on Thu Nov-03-11 04:04 PM by doc03
to hide their identity call them out and either make them remove it of hit the bricks, simple as that. I saw a video someone posted from a protest in Canada and that's what they did, it turned out they were cops.

Here you go, is that rocket science? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=St1-WTc1kow

What part of my post was rocket science to you?

There is no legal way for you stop anybody from wearing a mask at a protest if they won't remove it when you ask them to or even demand it, short of violence.

19. They did it in the video, didn't they? Another thing, like last night
Edited on Thu Nov-03-11 07:07 PM by doc03
in Oakland the occupy movement should come out immediately and disassociate themselves from that group that caused the trouble. Come on you have 7000 peaceful occupy protesters and a dozen assholes you can't get rid of them? If they refuse to remove their mask take it off of them or kick their ass. You would be better off doing that than get the bad publicity because of the trouble they start.
That scene from last night lost you thousands of potential supporters. The video I saw on the news this morning looked like the mobs rioting in Greece. They better start policing their own ranks or they will be history.

22. Oh yeah I'm sure the sight of Occupiers "kicking the ass" of a small group of people just because
Edited on Sat Nov-05-11 04:00 PM by Uncle Joe
they're wearing masks would be great publicity!:sarcasm:

The greatest strength the Occupiers have is the First Amendment and if they were to beat the shit out of some individuals just because they wore masks; that being their First Amendment Right, do you honestly the corporate media wouldn't turn on the Occupiers more than they do in re: to violence!?

Were such a thing to happen, the Occupiers would totally lose the moral high ground, to the average person being brainwashed by the corporate media, it would just be mobs in the streets and make no mistake about it, the corporate media would play it to the hilt and then give an excuse for the police to break up any demonstration to keep violence from breaking out.
