I confess ignorance. My grandparents homesteaded in Saskatchewan, and I've heard they often rued not keeping the mineral rights when they finally sold the property and headed south.

6. Those photos should remind us of where we are heading...
Back to the beginning of the Devonian period when the Earth's atmosphere held much more CO2.

Sometimes I wonder if we will pass the great big tipping point in the sky. The one that puts Earth's atmosphere back to more like that of Venus ... I guess we'd never quite get there but we could hit a point when human life would not be possible - that's for sure.
