I believe we need a constitutional amendment declaring pets to be persons.
In Mississippi the constitution could be amended making a zygote a person. That means if you get pregnant in the second half of the year you have a new tax deduction for the entire year since a new dependent was created.

Also corporations are people and get tax refunds and some don't even pay tax.

If my pets were persons I could deduct them on my income tax as people I support. That make as much sense as the other two above.

2. what if someone keeps butterflies as pets?
Would a 70mph gallup down the expressway make you a mass murderer?

3. Acually it makes more sense because because
1 - pets are alive.

2 - corporations are not alive.

3- How do you prove after the fact that you indeed were carrying a zygote for federal tax purposes at a certain date or even time?
Birth can be and usually are witnessed.
Fertilization is not known until several weeks or even months later. With no witness of the actual merging (the sperm and egg, not the couple). Legalities need a date and time.

6. this is how they are going to bring abortion back to the supreme court
they will charge an abortion doctor with murder, find them guilty at the state level, appeal to fed will come up, circuit court will reverse initial conviction, supreme court will hear the case a few years down the road and will likely send the doctor to jail if Obama is not the president to make the nominations. Within 2 years abortion could very possibly be illegal in more than 20 states

http://www.guttmacher.org/statecenter/spibs/spib_APAR.pdf. due to enactment of laws that either ban abortion upon reversal of roe (4 states, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Dakota and South Dakota , or have an unenforced law enjoined by the courts and unenforced like in Utah, or have old laws that never were taken off the books but are uneforced due to roe (12 states) VERMONT! Massachusetts, Arkansas, Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Michigan, Colorado and 4 states (Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio) have laws that express their intent to restrict the right to legal abortion to the maximum extent permitted by the U.S. Supreme Court in the absence of Roe.

in all honesty this is the best argument i can come up with to motivate people to vote for Obama, not health care, not jobs. Obama is being fucked by the republicans in congress but he hasnt actually stood up to them a lot since being elected. the whole strategy of negotiating because of a threatend phillibuster is a bunch of shit, the democratic leadership didnt really see any reason to actuall make them phillibuster, they just caved in. most all working class people i know dont like people who cave in without a fight, they see such behavior as a character flaw, weakness. they respect people who are "willing to take it to em" and brawl. so w. got some people like that with his bravado in iraq, obama could have gotten people like that by brawling against wall st. the republicans etc. but he has chosen not to do so so all i am left with to argue on is that the democratic president will not nominate pro life supreme court judges (a very important issue but one that has no impact on the economy, so i expect the democrats to actually fight on that issue and get bad press for it in christian usa. he needed to stand up and fight for the workers then say "i stood for you now lets stand together for womens rights" but he didnt do that for us now did he?

10. You would not get a deduction on your federal taxes due to pregnancy.
Edited on Tue Nov-08-11 01:50 PM by former9thward
That would be governed by federal law not state. I don't know if you would get a deduction on your state taxes.
