I genuinely feel sorry for Mrs Cain
This has got to be brutal. Its obvious that he is lying, I wonder if she knew about the women or if this is all new to her. Too sad...

9. Nope.
At least not at the podium "standing by her man".

27. then hillary clinton is a dog full of fleas then too. Clinton jumped
everything that moved. If you pillory poor Mrs. Cain, you have to make hillary dirt too.

8. I posted the same thought before reading this thread.
I could believe that she's not a public person, but to be missing from Cain's side today, given the subject, strikes me as very odd. Hell, even Vitter got his wife to stand up for him. The fact she's a no show on this issue doesn't help old Herm, IMHO.

without the whole world knowing about it.

22. I heard today that she's a Democrat.
I think I heard it on the Stephanie Miller show. I suspect that has as much to do with it as thing. Love does strange things to people...

6. I don't. I feel sorry for people in Somalia. I feel sorry for families who have no money and can't
find a job and are hungry and homeless. I could give a rat's ass about Mrs. Cain.

7. Sorry, I can't feel sorry for rich control freaks. She married him. She has to
know his habits though not necessarily the sexual habits. Spouses usually hide those.

10. Some spouses like that arrangement...
Cain is probably never home. She can have her life and benefit from the money. He's probably OK to her when he is there. And she doesn't have to touch him very often. Not my idea of a good time, but hey.

11. I'm feign to bring this up .... but
I'm somewhat disturbed by the double standard I've detected on this whole issue.

It wasn't too many months ago that a large percentage of posters on this board were defending Anthony Weiner to the death, and when anyone brought up feeling sorry for his (pregnant) wife, we were laughed at and asked "why? He did nothing wrong." The majority of those posters dismissed Weiner's texting of suggestive photos to women--at least one of whom was underage and another of whom maintained that she had neither solicited nor condoned such a thing and was truly shocked. Those acts were acts of sexual harassment, too. Whether it's a suggestive comment or gesture in the workplace or an unsolicited picture tweeted to an unsuspecting supporter, these are all examples of unwanted advances by powerful people over those with less power. I said it then and I will maintain it now. So don't bother to convince me otherwise.

I liked Anthony Weiner's politics and I scorn Herman Cain's. And I'm happy to see from recent photos that Weiner and his wife seem to be doing well together. I hope Mrs. Cain is not distraught. But what saddens me most is how often we let our politics get in the way of our basic social judgments. We villify those whose politics we dislike and lionize those whose politics we admire. But none of this is about politics. It's about sexism and male dominance. I think we should be more consistent on these issues.

14. Weiner had bad judgement. He didn't act on them other than to send txt. Cain
did and that is the difference. I would care less really except when you are running on family values.

15. Don't even go there
If I had been a follower of Anthony Weiner on Twitter because I admired him as a politician, and if he had sent me an unsolicited picture of his package, I would have felt totally harassed and abused.

And no, it doesn't matter whether you are running on family values. They were both wrong. This is the kind of double-standard I am talking about.

13. I bet she did. She isn't standing by her man. When you been
married that long you put up with allot as long as he doesn't flaunt it. Many women think that way. But why should she give up her home. Let the prick leave. She is a smart woman.

17. wasn't there some article or statement from some female Conservative about how
"refreshing" it was that the wife of the "offending politician" was not standing "by her man" when wronged, that she (the wife) was ripping the accused a new one?

23. I wouldn't feel too sorry for the lady...
She must know by now what she has.

What is sad is that lots of woman have to put up with this shit. And most have little or no recourse. Mr and Mrs. Cain can resolve their own problems. I'm not going to waste even a small thought on it.
