Seventeen Workers Exposed to Radiation at Idaho Lab
From the article:

The accident at the Idaho National Laboratory occurred inside a facility used for remotely handling, processing and examining spent nuclear fuel, radioactive waste and other irradiated materials, the lab said in a series of statements.

The so-called Materials and Fuels Complex is located near the edge of the sprawling 890-square-mile laboratory site in the high desert in eastern Idaho about 38 miles from the city of Idaho Falls.

1. That's a LOT of workers for a radiation lab
It appears that something leaked, and they had radiation where they "never expected to", so they had a whole bunch of workers without protective gear working in the room.

Oops. I opened up the bottle, and plutonium came out. It wasn't SUPPOSED to.

2. I have a family member that works there.
I didn't get the details other than it was a big mess. Sounds like the clean up will be a challenge as well.

I hope those exposed get the medical attention they need. While some here feel that if you don't fall over dead right off that you didn't really die from the nuclear energy industry.

3. That's horrible!
But what's a few lives when we obviously need nuclear energy?!

:sarcasm:
