Judge rules for Democrats on Colorado Congressional redistricting

Interesting new maps...

My old digs in Fort Collins moves from District 4 to District 2.

District 6 goes from safe-Republican to a likely Democratic win.

District 3 gets a bit more Democratic.

District 4 becomes even more teabaggy after losing Larimer County, and District 5 remains in the safe hands of the fundies.

District 1 and District 2 still represent Denver and Boulder areas, are Democratic safe districts.

District 7 gets its borders moved around quite a bit, and it looks like I'm personally moving from District 2 to District 7.

Overall, it's a big win for the Democrats.

I feel bad for Brandon Shaffer - Democrat running against Cory Gardner for District 4 - he's getting totally screwed. But on the bright side, at least my current digs, and my old digs and home of Fort Collins is getting better representation from being moved to District 2.

1. Shameless self-kick.
What, nobody's paying attention to redistricting?

2. The Fort is traditionally more conservative than Bouldarea, but that's not saying much, lol.

3. The Fort's gone purple in recent years. There's a decent number of progressives there.
Still a nasty infestation of teabaggers though...

4. When I was in college there (1974-1982) it was liberal-ish.

5. It also depends on what part of town you live in.
In the CSU area (Hi, fellow CSU alum! :hi: ) and in the areas around Old Town, there are lots of liberals. In the southern, sprawly parts of town, it's a mixed bag.

6. Nice to see Dems getting a break from redistricting for a change.
Seems like the republicans usually get the benefit of redistricting.

I remember back in the Bush days when those heroic Texas Dems bolted rather than vote on a republican redistricting plan that looked like someone drew a snake on a map of Texas.
