Second Mile: Another non-profit with some explaining to do |
The report of the resignation of the CEO of the Second Mile mentioned the fact that he had a salary of over $130,000 and his wife, as Exec VP was paid $100,000. In addition, it appears that Sandusky was paid $57,000. per year for 10 years after resigning as coach in 1999. Although not the worst example of people feeding at the trough of non-profit organizations, it is all too typical of such "charitable", "faith based" or "non-profit" organizations that raise funds for good works but turn into lucrative sources of income for the executives.

1. None of those salaries sound exorbitant at all, especially Sandusky's. |
I don't know how big an organization Second Mile is. Given all the talk of big money surrounding this scandal, I expected a lot more. OTOH, since so many knew Sandusky was a criminal pervert, maybe the feeling was "Take your lousy $57,000 and STFU...it's better than $3 a week for stamping license plates."

4. The media has reported the yearly amounts |
over a several year period. So the numbers are out there, if you look.

2. So, that was on top of his 58K PENSION from Penn State? |
Geez, that molester was/is raking it in, wasn't he?
Bet donations are "shitting the bed," as they say. Anyone who works for that outfit might want to start burnishing up their resume.
