Herman Cain doesn't how to speak Cuban. |

That's OK, Herman, neither does anyone in Cuba. They do, however, know how to speak Spanish. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/onpolitics/post/2011/11/herman-cain-cuban-delicious-/1?csp=24&kjnd=AuL3wFWkz1PuJjTDGD22HyFwHRi8g4HY5FREUWIxnGKshHErN%2Bs2oIx1zOxwQm5B-9972ac41-081b-4429-b5cf-5e2bac81ed6a_no9ZfotR1x577k3ZNZv9SB1fp4XzvMQHXM%2BISZY1L1PXJjfp%2BN6dBfs6y/6o6SJBGOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain reportedly made another gaffe today while campaigning in Miami, asking people at the famous Versailles Restaurant what the Cuban word is for "delicious."*snip*

2. To be fair, Cubans speak a pretty slangy version of Spanish |
|
You could say "barbaro" for instance and this might not be understood in Spain.
Cain would probably chose: 'ta muy sabroso mami

3. Forget slang and cultural nuances |
|
Herman Cain thinks "Cuban" is a language.

6. Would you ask what the Mexican word is for something, or the Spanish word... |
|
Spanish in Spain is different than Spanish in mexico....but it's essentialy the same language...and I'm SURE Hermie wasn't talking about the slang and dialect...he's just an idiot.

8. I've heard this kind of usage and it doesn't mean the person is an idiot |
|
not always anyway. It's kind of a folksy thing. I think this one isn't a biggie with Cain. He makes real blunders that are less charming.

9. Certainly not on the level of Libya... |
|
I really think Cain was so stumped he couldn't even remember if Libya was a country or part of the healthcare law!

11. Now that is less folksy, that's scary! |
|
Cain should be paid by the media for all the entertainment he provides. That's scary too. Our country is a laughing stock in terms of the candidates fielded by the GOP this round!

13. Should I watch or wist to see it 15 times on msnbc! |
|
I like Versailles. The cafe cubano there is delicioso! I've spent hours there eavesdropping on the extremist anti-Castro Cubans. They are very loud and the more cafe they drink the faster and louder they speak! Ahem, they're kind of racist so I wonder how this Cain visit really went over.

12. At least he didn't call someone a goose in Spanish |
|
George Bush, who thought he could speak Spanish, called the Spanish Prime Minister "Mr. Goose". He called him Mr. Ansar (Spanish for goose) instead of his actual name Aznar. Cain needs to watch a few more I Love Lucy episodes and I'm sure he'll get it.
