Isn't it more of a Patient's Rights bill? Or at least a Health Insurance regulation bill? |
|
Why can't they come up with a positive name for it that actually reflects what it does to counteract the totally fallacious "Government Takeover" bill? The GOP uses misrepresented inflammatory words to create reactions. Shouldn't the Democrats use emotional but correctly descriptive ones?

Because calling it the "Insurance Industry Welfare Act" is a tough sell?

3. They could have sold this as is: Some Regulations On Insurance Corporations Bill |
|
They fucked up badly by running around implying they were selling "universal" healthcare.
The Clintons made the same mistake by misrepresenting it.
People aren't that dumb. They GET that other countries have Single Payer and they want it!

5. Universal health care sounds terrible. |
|
If you work for Universal studios it might sound alright but if you don't it sounds like a big government give away which doesn't go over well with conservatives.
Single payer is a pretty bad name too. It sounds like you will have to pay for everything yourself. It should have a different moniker too.
