During yesterday's OccupyAustin march- I found an IPhone4
We were walking down Congress Avenue, taking up the street- and I noticed as we were marching, a brand new, still as of yet in scuffed iPhone 4. I ended up having to go to work immediately after the march but I spread the word among the IT team to make an announcement at the GA about it. I then noticed it had no lock and the same person had called it 7 times since I found it. I texted them, let them know I had it and that they could come to my work (also downtown) to pick it up. The girl was ecstatic. She gave me a big hug, took down my number so she could take me out for a drink soon and said : "See, this is why I have so much faith in this movement, there are so many good, kindhearted people, it just fills me with hope and I know this movement will win because of people like you!"
Needless to say this made me feel wonderful, but I didn't do that bc of that, it was just the right thing to do, but I guess that was her point.

It was a wonderful experience just to see faith in fellow man applicated, and how she felt is how I feel having that star donated to me.

1. She was very, very lucky you found it. A used iPhone 4 can go for hundreds on eBay.
Good job.

2. Yeah, between 200 and 300
And, not gonna lie, I really could have used that money- and if I had found a douchey-dude-brah drop it in the bar I work at, things might have been a different story- maybe, sometimes I like to think of myself as more self serving than I actually am, kinda strange I guess. But knowing that it was someone's from the rally, that was not even a thought

4. You're lucky it turned out well
I read a news story recently about a woman that found an iPhone and the police showed up at her door after they tracked the phone down. She had tried contacting the owner, unsuccessfully. The owner got the police involved and they nearly arrested the woman that found it!
