What is the origin of the Occupy Wall Street name. |
|
I think it is brilliant and certainly has caught the imagination of the public. But where does it come from?

3. It seems obvious on Wall St., but here in the Harrisburg area it should be OHB. |

Curiously, I had just posted about there being no efforts to disperse the protesters in HBG since they camped out there and compared it to the anti-tax group that annually inflate a giant pink pig outside the capital building to protest spending. Knock me down and fuck me sideways - they threw the OWS people out of the public park and tore down their tents on Friday. Curiously, they used municipal workers to do the dirty work and not the police. At least that was different.
I was just kidding about OHB. The use of OWS is fitting for nation-wide use. Wall Street is fucking up the country even more than Congress, and I don't say that lightly. It gives it at least some sense of unity. Unlike the teabaggers, OWS really IS grass roots. They don't have the Koch brothers or similar people throwing unlimited money at them.
