Corporate power grows stronger as government wanes
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-1119-petruno-markets-20111119,0,6768632.column

"Rollerball" still seems pretty far-fetched, but the occupiers are right to ring the alarm about the trend. In the aftermath of the 2008 market and economic crash, the financial and political power of major companies has only increased while workers' power has faded amid a global labor glut.

What's more, corporations grow stronger while developed-world governments are badly weakened — in no small part because of the heavier debt burdens they've taken on to try to save their economies with stimulus spending, bank bailouts and payments to the unemployed.

In August, the U.S. for the first time lost its top-rung AAA credit grade from Standard & Poor's, which cut the nation's rating to AA+, citing ballooning debt.

=======

AFAIC, they're doing it on purpose. They're twisting currencies and markets and resource speculation and are crashing the planet in order to gain control. What they can destroy, they can sweep up and control...just look at Italy and Greece's new PMs; both are consultants to Goldman Sachs.

Monti is an international adviser to Goldman Sachs<13> and The Coca-Cola Company.<14[br />

If it was so difficult to believe that there was coordination between police departments and mayors in the #Occupy attacks, how weird is it to make this conclusion from the Trends?

3. I think there is going to be a war.
It will start in one of the European countries that have been forcing austerity onto their citizens. It will begin as a civil war - the citizens against the federal government ruled by bankers. It's coming. The situation for citizens in austerity imposed countries is similar to what the Germans faced right before they elected Adolf Hitler. It is also very similar to what citizens faced in Russia before they ousted their Czar.

You can not impose austerity on people who are use to having decent wages and living a good middle class life. Because not only are you impoverishing the people, you are crushing their hope, their future, their dreams. With austerity, you are taking away jobs from young men and women who are now left with NOTHING to do. They will not stand by and watch as bankers take everything. They will fight back. They think they are invincible and they think they have nothing to lose. When you think you have nothing left to lose, you become a very dangerous person.

The only question remains is which country will explode or bring to power an Adolph Hitler?

4. I see a pattern, evidenced with Carter and Schwarzenneger:
I see a pattern, evidenced with Carter and Schwarzenneger:

BushCo friends OPEC create an energy crisis, making President Carter look weak and unelectable. People who have been inconvenienced vote for Ronald Wilson Reagan.

BushCo friends Enron create an energy crisis in California, making the Governor look weak and powerless. People who have been inconvenienced vote for Ahnold. It has since been confirmed that Ahnold took meetings with Enron prior to the created crisis.

Now, the very rich are buying gold and trashing paper currencies and commodities. The world economy reels. Austerity? NO! Why not elect this guy in Greece and this guy in Italy? Never mind that they WORK FOR GOLDMAN SACHS!

5. Yep. Here's how it works:
This is a long but extremely informative and accurate explanation, by Marcos, of globalism and its effects, including the subjugation and diminishing power of sovereign national governments by the 1%.
