Newt Gingrich is a freaking genius! Maybe.
You wait to enter the race until the entire field shows the depths of their ignorance. Then you jump into the race and suddenly the GOP is hopeful that maybe, just perhaps, they might actually have a candidate who isn't a total waste of space.

Sorry but Newt's gonna disappoint you, too.

When even George Will won't stand for you then you've got to realize what problems are coming down the pike: http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/05/15/166379/george-will-gingrich-serious-candidate/

And when you say things like:

“a strain of hostile people on the left organized across the country who believe in trashing things, believe in destroying things.” But some of the 99 percent movement in the crowd pushed back and tried to “mic-check” Gingrich who replied, “there is no such thing in America as the 99 percent”:

GINGRICH: There is a strain of hostile people on the left organized across the country who believe in trashing things, believe in destroying things. Who do they think paid for the park they are sleeping in? Who do they thing paid for the bathroom they want to use? Who do they think paid for the food they’re eating? America wasn’t created by people who woke up every morning saying, ‘You owe me.’ America was created who woke up every morning and said ‘I’m going to go to work and I’m going to do something positive, and I’m going to contribute.’ I think we ought to confront them head on. <...>

---

Yes, Mr. Gingrich will end up disappointing you, but he's going to provide us with a lot of laughs and cannon fodder in the upcoming months.

2. After writing this I saw...

Where he talks about child labor laws being 'stupid'.

Oh Republicans...you truly are a gift that keeps on giving.

3. By his party's standards, he IS a genius.
But, that's not saying much. Just look at the numbers of people who are currently supporting him, despite the hundreds of skeletons and rotting corpses in his closet.

7. If the bottom line is, if they won't nominate a member of the Mormon Church,
do they really expect to be competitive? They seem to forget that the Bush regime got into power via a coup de'etat.
