"They shot President Kennedy." he said.

My friend was right that day. "They" have evaded justice all these decades, all these lives. Tomorrow, November 23rd, is my 62nd birthday. What are your thoughts about "they" shooting President Kennedy? Or do you fully accept The Warren Commission Report?

1. thanks for jogging my memory - I had not paid attention to the date
seems like those in or near power who want peace and expose the lies our government is hiding do not last long.

14. Sort of hard to be unaware of the date here in the Dallas area.
Although today's article about it was about pinpointing the spot on Love Field where Air Force One was parked while LBJ was sworn in.

But there are things to remember, like the special album by That Was the Week that Was featuring The Summer of His Years, singing of: "a man shot down in a Texas town in the summer of his years."

I still haven't gotten over it. No, I never bought into the Warren Commission report.

3. I was 63 on the 20th. and still remember the raw emotions of
that day. One needs to read Russ Baker's - Family of Secrets to get a good take on what happened in Dallas that day. Even after reading the book, I still can't totally believe that LBJ didn't have a hand in it some how. If ya google The Wink, that is interesting.

4. Coincidence? Two future Presidents were around Dallas that day, Richard Nixon and George H.W. Bush
despite Bush's "memory lapse" about his 11-23-63 location.

16. I was at the dentist with my mother, brother, and sisters.
We all cried about more than dentistry that day. And my family was Catholic, and at that time the assassination was perceived as "their having killed one of ours."

When they cut away from Ringmaster Ned to the news guy.

I was home from grade school with "24 hour flu" aka food-poisoning...I dizzily worked my way into the kitchen and said to my mother "Did you hear? Kennedy was shot!" Her response was "I don't get it, what's the punch-line?"

She carried a transistor radio around the house to keep her company...she turned it on and couldn't believe her ears.

9. Never accepted the Warren Commission Report
much as I have dismissed subsequent commissioned reports (e.g. the 9/11 BS) because the THEY who have evaded justice all these years were likely the ones behind that horrible day. And THEY have been working mightily ever since, taking us/US down the road to destruction.

Early Happy Birthday, btd

13. Your 'well founded' opinion,
you mean.

It's so blatantly obvious how things have been happening. Thing is, no one wants to believe it, so they simply do not.

I've been running a very interesting experiment for years now. I show a video of a brownish 50-something story sky scraper collapsing to a person and ask this exact question; "What's happening in this video?". I give no information, I don't lead I ask only that question.

Every single person who does not know the identity of the building states, completely matter-of-factly, "That's a demolition."

I ask them to elaborate and they point to all the details of the collapse and explain how and why it is a controlled demolition. Then I tell them the identity of the building, the time it came down, and the quote by Larry Silverstein about 'pulling it'.

Most of them go quiet for a long time because they have to struggle with a truth they've seen with their own eyes. Some accept it and move on. Some try to edit their own brains to 'unsee' what they saw and convince themselves that they were wrong. It's fascinating.

With very few exceptions, everyone who knew the identity of the building before I showed them the footage absolutely believed that the collapse was not a controlled demolition. They literally couldn't believe their eyes because their cognitive filters would not let them.

I'm up to 40 subjects by now. Without my notes in front of me, I believe there are 7 people that did not know the ID of the building, but accepted the reality of what they knew they saw. There are about a dozen people that knew the ID of the building, but had already come to accept the reality going into the test. There are 20 people, fully half of the subjects, that watched the footage and claimed it was a controlled demolition, but then convinced themselves that they must have been wrong after they were told the ID of the building.

It really says something about the human capacity for self-delusion in the face of frightening realities.

It also explains why so many refuse to believe in anthropogenic climate change.

18. Yes Yes Yes...!!
Read my post (#15).

A sad reality in our world. We only believe what we want to believe so we don't upset the balance in our lives.

My Father in Law was a brilliant man... die hard republican... when Gerald Ford died he was lamenting how great a man he was.

I told him I lost all respect for him since he was on the Warren Commission and they were our last real chance to tell the American public the truth and they failed. He LIED to the American people and allowed the assassination of JFK to be buried without those being responsible brought to justice.

He just said "We had to put the past behind us!"

I just shook my head and gave up with him.

:toast: for your efforts in bringing to light how all humans are basically followers and will believe anything as long as they feel it is in their best interests to do so.

15. I once attended a lecture on the JFK assassination....
The Professor taught a class on assassinations at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids Michigan. I had spent years doing my own research and came to the conclusion that Oswald was not the only one that shot the president that day. I attended this lecture fully expecting the Professor to tow the same old line yadda yadda yadda. I was stunned to hear him methodically prove that Oswald could not have acted alone. He was brilliant with his lecture. Anybody that actually studies the evidence can only come up with ONE conclusion... this conspiracy was true.

Afterward he allowed questions to be asked... I asked him if he thought other assassinations such as MLK and RFK were also connected to whoever committed the JFK murder. He said yes.

In his opinion a faction of the CIA was involved in all of them.

My conclusion...

Most people don't want to know the truth. That is how it has been for ages. To admit that our own government was involved somehow can't be part of the equation. We are the land of the free and home of the brave. It's beyond reason to think our government was as corrupt and evil as any other.

It's time to wake up and see that the enemy within is here and thriving because so many Americans just want to bury their heads in the sand and not rock the boat.

OWS hopefully is America finally waking up.

I can find out if you would like... I would have to contact the history teacher of the local high school who was a friend with the Prof and had arranged the lecture at our high school. The public was invited and I attended with about 100 or so others.

19. "They're" still messing with us.
Eight years ago, Thanksgiving week 2003, I remember there was a JFK-fest on cable TV.

I think I watched 5 or 6 hour-long documentaries in a row. The same block of programs
were repeated the next day. I caught the highlights of a couple of shows I'd watched
the night before.

It was all new to me, because until then I just hadn't given any thought, or paid much
attention to any of that kind of speculation. (It wasn't that I didn't want to know, but
I had serious doubts that anybody could even begin to find out what the truth was.)

Some of that investigative reporting actually featured theories that were sympathetic,
or at least even-handed, towards Oswald, the patsy. Accounts of the autopsy and
discussion of the forensic evidence that didn't support the Warren report were included.
The father of The Chimp's press secretary, "Barr McClellan," a former Texas Democratic
party law firm partner, had just released a book, and one of the programs explored his
theories, and reminiscences:

"Blood, Money & Power, How LBJ Killed Kennedy"

A s*itstorm of criticism followed. The History Channel had to convene a 3-member panel
of historians, who issued the obligatory declaration, "the claim of LBJ's complicity 'is entirely
unfounded and does not hold up to scrutiny. ... {the show} fell short of the high standards
that the network sets for itself. The History Channel apologizes to its viewers and to
Mrs. {Lady Bird} Johnson and her family for airing the show.'"

...Anyway, to make a long story short, since that time, I haven't seen one documentary
on the subject that wasn't a total whitewash for the Warren report. Or I'm back to my
original attitude on the topic, so I have to admit I haven't watched any documentaries
on the subject. But I've seen the Oliver Stone film 3 or 4 times now.

Fiction has become much more interesting than "factual, investigative programming" on most
of those cable channels. With the notable exception of the whole series of shows on
modern physics, and the universe, and quantum theory and all that, cable documentary
programming has become a swamp. Soooo many bad reality shows, on top of the same old
WWII history, filling the gaps between one cheap-to-produce but brain dead novelty
program and the next. (Punkin Chunkin, Hillbilly Handfishin, Home Hobbyist Wank-Off,
Navy Seal Survival Camp. It's all a complete waste of time.)

27. I was a little kid...
Just recovering from scarlet fever... my parents and grandparents were crying... when I learned why, I cried too. My folks made sure I sat and watched the President every time he spoke on TV... he was talked about fondly, like he was part of the family. I loved seeing his kids playing... Caroline and I were very close in age as I recall.

The day of the funeral was very sad... I remember wailing because Caroline and Little John's daddy was in a box covered by a flag, never to play with them again.

That was a long time ago, and I was just a little girl... but the memories cause tears to well even now.

As for The Warren Commission Report... that was my first introduction to pure bullshit. My folks didn't believe it back then, and I never have either.

30. I was in study hall that day. I remember being scared even to walk
heome from school. I cried my eyes out. I think that day changed america forever. With JFK young people looked forward for the country. I didn't know he was so hated by people. I always thought everybody like him. Just like everyone liked Ike. Boy times have changed. I think the country would have been better off if he had lived. I never believed in the Warren commission. I still think the CIA was involved somehow. I am more sure today about that because just look at what is going on now. The government is in our personal business. I don't trust any one on the right.
