I'll never forget JFK or that day...
or this message from EMK:
For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die.

10. Some people think this was the beginning of this country becoming unhinged. in this country |
|
It wasn't just a presidential assasination, which was bad enough, it was the whole Kennedy thing.
The worst thing imaginable had happened to the man who had it all, looks, money, position, Camelot, a beautiful, close and powerful family. He seemed totally untouchable. He was the real life American man on the hill that we all envied and admired so much - that it could happen to HIM! How very vulnerable the rest of us were!!
After that, life just seemed rotten - like getting hit in the stomach with a cannon ball and still having to get up and go on.
Hard to describe, I just feel, as a nation, we lost our footing on that day and have been stumbling ever since.
