Moon Rebuilding WashTimes - 1/20 - DCRTV first tipped you yesterday that the Washington Times has placed ads to staff-up its new sports department. Now, we're hearing that it's also looking for hires for a new local news section and for more federal government coverage. Thanks to a cash infusion from re-newed benefactor Sun Myung Moon, who has taken back control of the struggling conservative daily, which made major (permanently damaging?) cuts in late 2009. Also, look for a new entertainment section coming soon, with about 50 new reporters and editors.....

WashTimes Staffing New Sports Section - 1/19 - A DCRTVer tells us that the Washington Times is seeking "an experienced, versatile, and creative editor to oversee the relaunch of its sports coverage," via an ad on an internet job site. So, it looks like the new management of the scaled-back rag plans to reinstate a sports section, after eliminating it along with its entertainment and local news coverage in late 2009.
