Did anyone go to Thanksgiving and have their relatives defend the UC Davis Pepper Spray Cop? |
|
Just curious, haven't seen any discussions about what went down at everyone's relatives homes??
How can these people still be claiming the moral high ground on everything?
Did anyone make any progress in their discussions?

the only relative I have is my son and we live together and we usually agree with each other so I have no stories for Thanksgiving political discussions.

3. No one in my family would defend such abuse.... |
|
All I heard was nation wide and international condemnation of Pike and Davis and the entire crackdown on protesters.

4. Tried to avoid politcal discussions for fear of a drumstick coming my way. |
|
Most of my family are Republicans, not really hard core, but still it can get emotional. I just avoid it to keep the peace... usually.

5. Our wing nuttiest family members were not in attendance yesterday |
|
But those of us who were there unanimously agreed that PSC should be fired and possibly prosecuted and the UC police chief and chancellor both needed to go as well. We all agreed the pictures were hilarious however. http://www.peppersprayingcop.tumblr.com

6. No discussions like that here. |
|
The only people we had over for Thanksgiving dinner were my daughter and her boyfriend, both of whom had just watched "Capitalism, a Love Story" the night before and were reduced to tears. Plus, my daughter says people at her work call her a socialist.
I'm so proud -- raised her right. :)

14. Nope...everyone I talked to about it thought he was completely in the wrong |
|
In particular, my step-father (former Navy, always proudly independent) has definitely become more of a political dissenter in his old age. Likes Michael Moore, watches The Ed Show, can't stand Republicans.
I think Bush II was the one who turned him.

15. No. One family member did bring up politics for a moment |
|
and I thought there might be a major conflict, but it had nothing to do with occupying.
We were talking movies, Henry Fonda came up, and the Viet Nam vet muttered something uncomplimentary about his sister, which set another family member off, and they argued about "Hanoi Jane" for ten minutes or so, then remembered Henry Fonda, went back to his movies, and it was forgotten.
