WI state senator wants notarization requirement for recall petitions
WITI-TV, GREENFIELD— Democrats say enthusiasm remains high in the effort to collect 540,000 valid signatures to force a recall election against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. Republicans say they've been alerted to multiple instances of misconduct and fraud, and one Republican senator says he will reintroduce a bill requiring recall petitions to be notarized.

State Senator Glenn Grothman (R-West Bend) says requiring notarization is an extra step in reducing fraud and misconduct in the signature-gathering process. Republicans are also downplaying the recall efforts. "There have been a lot of numbers thrown around by Democratic activists who are pushing for this recall. We view these numbers as dubious because there have been multiple instances of recall fraud," Ben Sparks, Communications Director with the Republican Party of Wisconsin said.

Republicans have set up a website to combat this fraud - a place where people can submit videos, recordings, photos and incident reports related to petition circulation and signature-gathering, and these claims will be investigated by party members and retired law enforcement officers. That site is RecallIntegrityCenter.com.

1. Will they also actively pursue all those reports of Republicans advising the destruction...
...of recall petitions?

5. Notarize what?
I don't really understand what this is about. Does Grothman want a bill passed that requires a notary verify each signature as the voter signs the petition? That would pretty much stop any future recall petitions.

6. Losing the game? Change the rules!
It's the Republican way.

If there are bad signatures, it's up to the Elections Division to review them and weed them out, just like it's always been. Grothman and Sparks are looking for any excuse to try to derail the freight train that's about to run over the Wisconsin GOP for being a bunch of overreaching motherfuckers. This is the natural and normal consequence, and the Republicans hate consequences for themselves. They love consequences, especially bad ones, for everyone else.

7. The only video I saw on their "integrity" recall website
was one they said was a Democrat destroying a recall petition. What? A bit stupid - that.
Anyway the video was of a petition that looked like it had fallen to the ground and got stepped on. No intentional destruction and why would a Democrat destroy it? If that is what they are toting as "multiple instances of recall fraud" they've got nothing.

8. Yes, there is definitely misconduct and fraud.
The Republicans know there is because they are the ones engaging in these behaviors.
