With Barney Frank retiring (whom I love and would rather he stay a while longer), I wonder what Howard Dean's prospects are - would he run for Barney's seat - would he win?
Leahy got in in 1974, and was last re-elected in 2010. He's lovable, but he's up there in years.
I think Bernie Sanders is younger; he was elected in 2006. He's up for re-election in 2012 and he has lots of energy and I doubt he'll retire.
Wouldn't that leave Dean in a good position to get a senator's seat if one of the two retire? I need to see Dean in politics again.

2. Barney Frand is also not a senator. |
|
However, I would love to see Dean in public office again.

3. I know he's not a Senator |

But being a US Rep would place him in a better position to be a senator should an opening crop up...

5. I think he would make a great senator, |
|
maybe he would move to a state that has not seen a good senator for many years, could we sell him on Arizona.

4. Dean's best prospect would be if Leahy retired but that is four more years |
|
and he very well may not. Frankly, not too many options for Dean in Vermont right now.
