Seriously, there's no single source for news, and news is news, not commentary. I tend to check any important story out in multiple sources, and not just sources that quote the same article, as is so common on web-based sources. Commentary is something completely different. Until I know the reliability of a particular source of commentary, I treat it as random yammering. Only when a commentator demonstrates a thorough knowledge of a specific area and consistent reliability do I give credence to his or her writings.
There's so much garbage out there that attempts to pass as news that it takes work to figure out what's correct and what's not.
