Woman Arrested After Closing Citibank Account in Protest Files Federal Suit Against NYC, NYPD
http://www.bradblog.com/?p=8947

Federal complaint charges NYPD making indiscriminate mass arrests on behalf of Wall Street banks...

The City of New York and the NYPD are engaging in a deliberate campaign of "mass arrests, illegally arresting protesters, including bank customers, and needlessly detaining them for excessively long periods...in order to facilitate and promote the CITY OF NEW YORK's desired reputation as corporate friendly and pro-bank."

So says a federal complaint filed by a woman and her fiancée who allege that they were inappropriately detained by New York City police last month inside a branch of Citibank in downtown Manhattan.

1. Citibank is after me *again*

Got a pre-approved credit card notification from them telling me I am approved (did I apply? NO)! :wow:

I took the interest rate sheet that came with it and put this in the return envelope and blacked out the bar codes on the return envelope and wrote the solitary word JUMP on the back of the envelope. I wonder if they'll even notice?

Sh*tty bank makes me mighty sick. :puke: :puke: :puke:

and yes, I am one of them. I don't go to demonstrations anymore (too old and sick for that) but I do find my ways! }(

This is nothing new with me, been doing it for years; sending back the interest rate info. to them with no other info. and blacking out that bar code that tells all. :grr:

I thought this game was done and gone and here we go again!

No damn thanks Chittibank! :puke: again ...

Suggest others do the same as someone pays for the return postage of these deals and it is not you nor me. }(

10. If I may suggest the following modifications?
Add tons of junk mail or a brick to the envelope and write "jump you fuckers." on the envelope.

7. I got one also
I took the contents of the envelope, along with a shim (which I cut to fit) and mailed it right back in the prepaid envelope. Hopefully, the post office can get more money for that one!

8. now there is an idea!
However, I'd be reluctant to send them anything back that they did not send to me. Return to sender ... that one there works like a charm too. Write that on the envelope and circle the address to shittybank and and arrow pointing towards it. Even an empty envelope will do!

I had lot of fun during the days of the home loan a day era and no, I do not care to refinance my house! still ...

11. I don't know about the US mail
but junk mail in Canada does not get sent back even if you write return to sender on it. You need to take the postage paid return envelope out and use that to send it back to them. And they are catching on to that one, often they don't supply an envelope inside, you have to go to their website to sign up for their usury. Occasionally if I have time I will go online to find a mailing address for the company and stuff their crap inside an envelope - previously used of course so I don't waste my own resources - and send it back with no postage. That way they get charged double postage.

9. Probably not. Likely they employ a "service" to process those forms--
who knows, they could even be using prisoners--plenty of mail order outfits do!

It cost them the discounted postage, anyway.

6. I have closed many accounts at many banks over my lifetime, and have never had a problem
When we recently closed our Chase (WaMu) , it took about 2 minutes:)..and no drama of any kind.
