Comcast: "Get rid of the insolent one. What the &%^* other station will Liberals watch?" |
|
"We still got Rachel, Larry, and Cenk - this'll keep 'em in line"
Seems like they learned something about dealing with Liberals from the DLC.

Romans used it, called Decimation.
And there is a story about brutal tactics against people in other cultures also.
The more brutal they get, the more brutality is needed, and the more they are seen for what they are, and the less the brutality works against people as intimidation.
I don't believe in those tactics, as I have said many times, it is fear based, not for better education.
And I am still due beer and travel money.

I'll say one thing for the Koch brothers and their ilk - they put their money where their mouths are.

5. But "they" control the FCC and advertising dollars. |
|
I would love to dump Comcast but I live with my Aunt who is in a wheelchair following a stroke a few years ago and home bound due to Medicaid rules. She needs little sleep and never liked to read. Our apartment building only allows Comcast services due to the damage the dishes do so I am stuck with Comcast. She is out visiting in the building during the daytime but in the evening and over night when she is stuck in bed she wants the TV on. I think she would have gotten depressed and given up if she did not have the distraction. Network TV is the pits overnight.

8. See if an indoor antenna would work for you. |
|
Then for other, overnight viewing, bookmark sites that offer old television shows online for your aunt to watch. She might like having the chance to view the shows of her choosing at any time. Also, archive.org has lots of old movies to watch, free to stream or download.
I'd sit her down, show her the sites, and see what she thinks. Then explain how much money you could save by cancelling cable and doing this instead. She might be game.

6. Maddow says Comcast had nothing to do with it. |

Sounds to me like Olbermann was sick of his boss, especially after the bullshit "suspension," and was ready to get out.
