"Everything from the top down is dumb and slow |
|
What comes from the bottom up is smart but chaotic. We need to sift through the chaos to find the smart ideas. "
Tom Friedman was discussing what his friend Kirk Carlson who runs the Stanford research institute has to say about innovation. High unemployment often unleashes innovation. Hopefully this period won't be a complete loss and we will see some positives out of this.

1. Tom Friedman said something intelligent? |
|

2. High unemployment plus the Internet. That's new. |
|
Smart ideas will filter themselves out of the muck. That's just the way the Internet works.
At least that's how it works right now.

3. Doesn't seem like we have seen much though. |

Even Netflix was pre-collapse. It's kind of exciting to wonder what will pop up soon. Maybe we have to look more at gizmodo or those types of sites. That is one thing we don't see much of here.
