My wife notes that Lawrence was promoted over Rachel.
That really didn't occur to me until she said that. 8 p.m. is the true prime spot.

I like them both, but she's right. Lawrence is on top of the ticket.

2. I think that's silly; he took KO's spot and she keeps hers. BOTH prime, imo.

3. Rumors are that Rachel wanted to keep her spot.
I think Ed Schultz got kicked in the teeth though. He had seniority over Lawrence.

6. And he didn't seem very happy
Cenk should have been given the 10.00pm. Ed should have remained in his own spot although truth be told 10.00pm is better than 6.00pm when people are in traffic.

4. I always think of nine to eleven as the prime hours. Just my opinion.

10. I do to.
I would have like K.O.'s show in the 10 PM slot. I could have watched his show more often.

8. The question must be asked: Does cable news compete for the primetime slot?
I would think 8 p.m. would be the time most people would turn to watch American Idol or something.

Perhaps what I am implying is that prime time for cable news channel is different from the network prime time. I'm sure it has been studied, but I'd be interested to know if cable news has a different definition of "prime time".

9. Except Rachel's show tends to do better in the ratings game @ 9pm

She often beat Keith's numbers. I think you don't mess with a winning formula.

It may have something to do with what time of day guests are available and prefer to be on TV. O'Donnell has had a strong guest line-up at 10:00 (at least partly because the show was new). We'll see what kind of guests show up for him at 8:00.

13. maybe they/she didn't want to risk the good ratings she is now getting?
There's a long history in TV of audiences not following the star to a different time slot, even with a minor time change. Makes no sense but maybe they mutually agreed to keep it as it is.

15. The only problem I have with O'Donnell being on at 8pm is the name of his show...
since it's now on at 8pm, it's no longer the last word. But Rachel seems to be doing very well in her time slot. She probably wanted to keep it.

They need a refresh on Lawrence's branding.

18. Love both, but think Lawrence may have slightly wider appeal among certain segments
who might be likely to be in bed by 10 pm. Rachel is fantastic but tends to come across as a brainiac; maybe MSNBC is hoping Lawrence will bring in some new viewers.
