As I listened to the obligatory thanks to our troops and the call for colleges and universities
to welcome military recruiters back onto campuses, I had one of those silly childish thoughts that still creep into my consciousness despite my "mature" status.

I wondered, just for a moment, if we will ever have a president who will call for us to manage our government in such a way that we, eventually, no longer need a military except for ceremonial purposes.

Will we ever be called upon to "study war no more"?

Yeah, I know: ("Cue 'Age of Aquarius" soundtrack")

8. When will we stop torturing other nations for the sake of imperialists and war profiteers?
When will we stop torturing young men and women by sending them to war?

When will this suicidal insanity stop?
