History is critical in our "race to the top" |
|
Our leaders single out science and math as the areas of education that we need to focus on, but I think that they need to be careful not to ignore history. Our economic development will most certainly depend on increased technical knowledge and we need to push for that, but history (and philosophy) are equally important for societal development. Without historical knowledge from which to build on, our nation will be doomed to repeat mistakes and compound existing problems.

those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it. That pretty much sums um the tea baggers and the entire republican party. I'm currently going school to become a historian, and I am going to make it my duty to teach people THE FUCKING TRUTH!
