Whatever became of the FISA court?
Edited on Tue Feb-01-11 09:27 PM by Canuckistanian
Does it even function any more? Are there ANY cases being handled there? Is it even relevant, given the abuses of due process and illegal surveillances of the past 10 years?

I haven't heard ANY news about the Court since Judge James Robertson resigned in protest of "secret surveillances" during the Bush years.

Or has the PATRIOT Act effectively made it obsolete?

The cases before the FISA courts don't get out to the public - maybe WIKILEAKS needs to get inside FISA.

3. I know that. But we know they used to function at one time
They don't of course publish their cases, but we at LEAST got to hear about their "modified requests" of cases.

There haven't even BEEN any "modifications" published since 2004.

5. The FISA courts only emerge into view when B*shCheeney wanted to
circumvent them. I would imagine that they are back under the radar now.
