This is my take on this subject... and bout bloody time that somebody covers the food speculators

1. I saw someone being interviewed yesterday who said the problem wasn't speculation

and regulations but that farmers couldn't make a living anymore and that is what needs to change.

2. Speculators are part of the problem on the back end

aka the wheat imported to N. Africa... and the farmers make a better living growing oh cotton, in the case of Egypt. than well wheat. This is not profitable anymore. It is also by design and part of globalization, I had some conversations with Migrant Workers who used to grow corn, beans and squash in the Bajio, and who were forced to sell after NAFTA.
