Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi comment on Egypt....yuk! |
|
Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi made comments that sound very different in tone to those by other Western leaders. "I hope that in Egypt there can be a transition toward a more democratic system without a break from President Mubarak, who in the West, above all in the United States, is considered the wisest of men and a precise reference point," Reuters quotes him as saying. "I hope there can be continuity in government."
Right now from a BBC live link news.

3. Berlusconi and Blair were always very close |
|
and their love of Mubarak sounds very similar.
Plus, of course, Berlusconi may well feel sympathy for another politicians who makes millions and keeps himself out of jail by being in charge of the country and thus 'above' the court system.

If he likes 'emmat 17, you know his tastes run young. Maybe that's why Blair likes him so much - silvio is his pimp.

6. Berlusconi is simply saying what authoritarians on the political spectrum would say. |
|
He, himself, isn't exactly an example of championing freedom and a free press. Most of the major news outlets in Italy are run by Berlusconi.
