inside the square for about 30 minutes now, is media reporting this? Crowds linked arms, hands and formed a human red carpet for him

4. CNN link here
Amr Moussa, the Arab League's secretary-general and a veteran Egyptian diplomat, joined protesters in Cairo's Tahrir Square on Friday, state-run Nile TV reported. Time magazine has described him as "perhaps the most adored public servant in the Arab world."

2. Link here
The Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa has joined his fellow Egyptian protesters in calls to topple the government of President Hosni Mubarak. He recently said he was “at the disposal” of the Egyptian people, adding that he would consider a run for the presidency in a post-Mubarak Egypt.

His presence has been welcomed by anti-government demonstrators, who by early afternoon Egypt time was already in the hundreds of thousands, possibly more. Across Egypt the scene was similar, with thousands pouring onto the streets in protests to end 30 years of Mubarak’s reign.

“We welcome Moussa to the demonstrations. He is Egyptian just like the rest of us,” said one protester, Dina, via telephone.
