"This is the stuff normally you would prescribe medication."
Glenn Beck Digs Himself Deeper in the Hole With His Conspiracy Theories
By Heather

Hardball's Chris Matthews has finally started paying attention to the fact that Glenn Beck's show is nothing but fear mongering and incoherent rants and touting nonsensical conspiracy theories. Media Matter's Eric Boehlert and The Washington Post's Eugene Robinson discuss some of Beck's latest wingnuttery with the uprisings in the Middle East.

They also spent a little time discussing neocon Frank Gaffney who's been spreading panic about the Muslim Brotherhood taking over our government that John wrote about yesterday. Maybe Matthews will finally quit having him on as a guest on Hardball after this.

Best line in the segment by Eugene Robinson after Matthews asks him if Beck has any sense of history:

ROBINSON: This is the stuff normally you would prescribe medication.

Ain't that the truth?

5. It's one of two things
1. He's on something that's making him that delusional and he needs to stop using whatever it is.
2. He's not on anything and needs to be on something to stop his delusions.

6. What he is on is the mormon church
All you have to do is read what they believe and their plan for the USA, Glenn Beck is just repeating what he hears. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dana-milbank/post_996_b_749750.html

In one of his first appearances on Fox News, Glenn Beck sent a coded message to the nation's six million Mormons -- or at least those Mormons who believe in what the Latter-day Saints call "the White Horse Prophecy."

"We are at the place where the Constitution hangs in the balance," Beck told Bill O'Reilly on November 14, 2008, just after President Obama's election. "I feel the Constitution is hanging in the balance right now, hanging by a thread unless the good Americans wake up."

8. No lie. Mormon doctrine is bizarre bullshit.

As a former mormon, I can tell you that first-hand.

The percentage of tinfoil-hatters is far higher in mormondumb than in the general populace. Call me a "hater" if you like, but mormonism is a weird cult, even if it has attained a certain amount of social respectability.

11. The rate of schizophrenia is higher in Utah than elsewhere in the USA
I think it is the cognitive dissonance that thinking mormons feel, but societal pressures prevent them from being able to process their thoughts. One guy told me that they just keep you so busy with sports, callings and other church things, so you don't have time to think.

I also think that the diagnosis of schizophrenia is used somewhat in the soviet psychiatry way, that anyone who starts to have doubts and expresses them, is not only snubbed but immediately discounted as mentally ill. I think it was later in W's regime when a sort of spin was going around that liberals were social dissidents and it was a form of mental illness, of course, that never got off the ground.

12. What that guy told you is quite accurate.
If you're busy, you have no time to realize how ridiculous mormonism truly is.

13. Maybe it is time to seriously
consider the possibility that Glenn Beck has a serious mental illness.
