Prize offered for best essay on Reagan
Marin Republican Women, Federated, is sponsoring an essay contest for Marin 11th-grade students on the topic: "What do you believe made Ronald Reagan the effective leader that he was, and why is he considered one of the best presidents in our lifetime?"
Essays should be a maximum of 500 words and will be judged on originality, creativity, neatness, grammar, spelling and a well-developed topic. The deadline is April 8.
The winner will receive a cash award and a book for the student's school library. For information, call Nan Paget, 388-4823.

I practically hurled when I read this. If this had been a school sponsored contest I would have seen my blood pressure rise to an unhealthy level.

4. St. Ronnie best "in our lifetime" for 11th graders?
Clinton was president when most of these 11th graders were born. Reagan had been out of office for almost a decade.

OK, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Carter, reagan, ghwb, Clinton, *, Obama.
