Progressive fans of the Huffington Post aren't too happy about the site being acquired by America On-Line. Now, they may have another reason to lament the purchase.

A source close to AOL CEO Tim Armstrong, a former Google executive hired in 2009, told Business Insider that while he "calls himself a libertarian," Armstrong is in fact "one of the most conservative people around."

...if he messed around with it. AOL desperately needs HuffPo in its current form to redefine itself and to use its large hit count to generate much needed revenue. Piss off the readers and you're defeating the purpose of buying the thing. I think this is strictly business...having AOL take over the money headaches frees up Arianna and others to maintain the content. Roy Sekof talked about how this deal could help HuffPo expand. Gone are the days when a corporation...especially one that's been on the downs for years...can throw away money.
