(B of A) Intel Attack Plan on Wikileaks leaked |
|
Edited on Wed Feb-09-11 04:20 PM by Bragi
See http://wikileaks.ch/ In a document titled "The WikiLeaks Threat" three data intelligence companies, Plantir Technologies, HBGary Federal and Berico Technologies, outline a plan to attack Wikileaks. They are acting upon request from Hunton and Williams, a law firm working for Bank of America. The Department of Justice recommended the law firm to Bank of America according to an article in The Tech Herald. The prosed attacks on WikiLeaks according to the slides include these actions:
* Feed the fuel between the feuding groups. Disinformation. Create messages around actions of sabotage or discredit the opposing organizations. Submit fake documents and then call out the error. * Create concern over the security of the infrastructure. Create exposure stories. If the process is believed not to be secure they are done. * Cyber attacks against the infrastructure to get data on document submitters. This would kill the project. Since the servers are now in Sweden and France putting a team together to get access is more straightforward. * Media campaign to push the radial and reckless nature of WikiLeaks activities. Sustain pressure. Does nothing for the fanatics, but creates concern and doubt among moderates. * Search for leaks. Use social media to profile and identify risky behavior of employees. http://wikileaks.ch/

3. If any of that can be proven, that's a criminal conspiracy in my book. |
|
It's probably legal, except for the plot to user cyber attacks against the infrastructure. That's clearly illegal and if BofA employees conspired to do this they are in big trouble, well, I mean they would be in a democracy.

4. I worked in PR for many years... |

...and it is frightening to see terminology, tactics and strategies that are used to sell legitimate corporate interests and products--now used to leverage PURE EVIL and bamboozle the American people.
These bastards aren't messing around.
Interesting that they list "MEDIA CAMPAIGN to push the radical and reckless nature of WiliLeaks activities" as part of their strategy. More proof that the media is just a willing puppet tool of the uber elites who want to disseminate their lie-based talking points, propaganda and disinformation. These people know that they can use the media as their play thing, because the media IS simply a propadana device that serves corporate America. SICK.

You write: ...and it is frightening to see terminology, tactics and strategies that are used to sell legitimate corporate interests and products--now used to leverage PURE EVIL and bamboozle the American people.
Yes and no. I personally think the bag of skills involved in doing PR are pretty neutral, in that they can be used to do good, or to do evil.
However, PR is principally conducted in our society on behalf of interests that can pay, and have money.
Because of this, PR is mostly used in our society to promote either narrow commercial goals that are irrelevant to the public interest, or public policy goals that are hostile to it.

I'm sure it's just my imagination, but it's almost like some of the posters who show up here attacking Assange and Wikileaks were following a script.
Not that that would happen, of course.

14. Either that or the 'media campaign' was effective and since they |
|
associate Wikileaks exposures as an insult to their 'party', they just accept what the media tells them.
Interesting though that these Corps knew they could depend on our media.
So much credit goes to people like Glenn Greenwald who was relentless, no matter how he was attacked, in defending Wikileaks from, what we know now, were orchestrated attacks. And he too became a target.
Anonymous is amazing whoever they are. Without them, we would never have had verification of what many people suspected.
Also, our current DOJ was involved in this smear campaign. How can there ever be justice or any kind of rule of law when the people who are charged to defend the rule of law, are lawless themselves?
