ANDERSON — Yvonne Vaughn held a tote bag full of her medical records and denial letters from the U.S. Department of Social Security when she showed up Wednesday at the Anderson Free Clinic.
Tears streamed down her face. She said she has struggled with the pain for two years, hoping for some medical help.
She has degenerative disc disease, which causes her severe pain when she walks, stands or tries to do simple chores like washing dishes. The pain keeps her from working. She can’t hold down a job because the pain is so severe….
To qualify for help, patients must be uninsured, without Medicaid, Medicare or private insurance.
The average household income for a Free Clinic family of four is under $6,000.http://www.independentmail.com/news/2011/feb/09/people-line-anderson-free-clinic-accepts-new-patie/?print=1
