Reid: Fine Line Between Cutting Responsibly And Cutting Recklessly
“Saying you want to cut government spending is an easy applause line. We all want a lower deficit, and we all wish America had less debt sitting in other countries’ treasuries. None of us wants to leave the most difficult decisions to the next generation. They deserve better from us.

“But actually doing the hard work of figuring out what and where to cut? That’s an entirely different story.

“The American people don’t need to hear an applause line. They need us to ease the burden on our nation’s bottom line. And there’s a fine line between doing so responsibly and recklessly.

“It’s our job to do that hard work – to figure out what and where to cut – to do the math carefully and practically and with common sense. It’s our responsibility to remember that we’re not just taking numbers off a ledger – in many cases, these proposals may mean taking workers off the assembly line, or taking teachers out of the classroom, or police off our streets.

2. If the poor and the elderly and the children
freeze and die in their homes, do we call it murder then, or just the price of being poor in this country? Do they even pretend to remember the words. "what you have done to the least of my brethren, you have done unto me."

3. Damn, I'm more of a Christian, and I don't believe, than any "conservative"
Christian...

5. Some reason I can't get excited about this
I have heard Reid say fantastic things before, like he would fight this tooth and nail, only to watch him roll over. The GOONS are defining what is center these days.
