Died Thursday Chief of Staff of the Egyptian armed forces, former Marshal Saad El Shazly, the author of a war plan October 1973, after a struggle with the disease, and opposed the decisions of former President Anwar Sadat in the path of war, especially the position of the so-called Baltgrp.

According to Middle East News Agency, El-Shazly, died this morning after suffering a long illness.

Born Chadli in April 1922, and served as Chief of Staff in the period from 16 May 1971 to 13 December 1973 before to dismiss the former president Anwar Sadat to his objection to the decisions of military and political, including in relation to the Treaty of Camp David with Israel.

After his dismissal, he was sent Sadat to be Egypt's ambassador in Britain until 1975, then transferred also as Ambassador to Portugal until 1978, but he dissented from the order and went to Algeria where he remained an opponent after his opposition to the Camp David.
