Isn't this Egyptian plan what the US administration pushed for? |
|
I'm reading the reports that the US is surprised that Mubarek is staying yet a few days ago I thought this was the plan. Mubarek must technically remain President under their constitution to prevent a corrupt leader of Parliament from assuming the Presidency. I thought the US pushed for him to relinquish power but technically keep the title. Then a military committee will revise the constitution to meet the demands of the people.
Note: I'm not advocating this, I'm just confused at the reporting.

2. I'm sure some will say you are advocating for Mubarak |
|
But like you I'm asking, when Mubarak leave, who is supposded to head the govt until the elections or until the constitution is revised?
