Wikileaks Assange facing legal jeopardy?

Gregory pointed out that Senate Republican Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell said Assange is “a high-tech terrorist,” while others say his document release was more like the 1971 publication of the Pentagon Papers, a secret Defense Department history of decision-making in the Vietnam War. “Where do you come down?” Gregory asked

“I would argue that it’s closer to being high-tech terrorist than to the Pentagon Papers,” Biden replied.

“This guy has done things that have damaged and put in jeopardy the lives and occupations of people in other parts of the world,” he said. “He’s made it more difficult for us to conduct our business with our allies and our friends. For example, in my meetings, you know I meet with most of these world leaders. There is a desire now to meet with me alone rather than have staff in the room. It makes things more cumbersome. And so it has done damage.”

Biden comments were a slight change in emphasis from what he said in an interview with NBC’s Andrea Mitchell last week. “I don't think there's any substantive damage,” as a result of the Wikileaks disclosures, he told Mitchell. He acknowledged that “some of the cables that are coming out here and around the world are embarrassing,” but they have contained “nothing that I am aware of that goes to the essence of the relationship” between the U.S. and foreign governments.

3. V.P. Biden, i like you... but YOU & blubberboy mcchin-less ARE WRONG!
1st amendment of the u.s. Constitution= Freedom of the Press! Heard you of it? Deal with it!

BTW, the trolls who conspired before, during & after the events on 9-11-2001 will see the light of day sooner than your sorry asses can cry uncle!

JESSE VENTURA'S new season of 'Conspiracy Theory' began friday night. He talked about the LIE that a 757 hit the pentagon. I never believed it then and don't believe it now! The facts are undeniable! The unanswered questions mounting! The searing light of truth will scorch those liars, cheats and thieves who stole the TILLION$ that are still missing from the pentagon/DoD budget! WHERE THE HELL IS THAT MONEY?

6. Bullshit
Sorry. But that's just it. Bullshit.

How disappointing. Assange's leaks have killed NO ONE and cost ZERO lives - it may cost him his own and if they kill him over this, there WILL backlash and Assange will be considered even more of a hero.

9. Yes, but it has caused embarrassment and could potentially threaten corporate supremacy's
stranglehold over "We the people's" government.

You can't have a lot of secrets AND be an abusive oligarchy. Sooner or later, something gives.

10. How sad. How long before we are forbidden from
talking about Wikileaks?

Did Biden have anything to say about the torture crimes revealed in the Wikileaks documents?

Otoh, I do remember back in the Bush days when there were votes on issues such as Condi Rice's nomination or John Bolton, Biden would rant and rave before the cameras, then go in and vote FOR them.

There appears to be a real exposure of what many people have been saying all along. When it comes to U.S. brutal foreign policy, there is only one party.

However, citizens do not have to sign on to the criminal wars.

And fortunately, no matter how are silenced here, the crimes ARE being exposed and the more sunlight there is, the more hope that the victims of these crimes will one day get the justice they deserve. Those still living that is.

13. Oh really, he is a terrorist?
Then I bet you would have no problem simply telling us what "laws" he has broken. All these officials are calling him a fucking terrorist and saying that this will harm people over the world, but they have presented no evidence and no case to justify their claims. If the guy is so bad he is a terrorist they should be able to list off all the crimes he has committed, yet they cant name one.

14. No attempts to bring Cheney to justice, but Assange is "fair game?"
The Administration's argument that Assange has endangered foreign assets, therefore they will attempt to connect him to a conspiracy charge holds NO WATER. Where was the Obama Administration on bringing those involved in the Plame CIA outing? Oh, that's right...they didn't want to "look back" and it "would cause a lot of problems."

So, their argument is one where if someone in high power in the US puts foreign assets in danger, that's o.k. But, god forbid someone else do it. That's the logic?
