dis*il*lu*sion
noun
disappointment resulting from the discovery that something is not as good as one believed it to be : enthusiasm for the government evaporated into a more cynical disillusion.

I now wish this guy wasn't president. :/

1. The alternative was McCain/Palin.
I do not wish they had won. Whatever disillusionment I might feel now does not overcome my horror at the thought of those two running things.

4. We are learning that other forces run the presidency regardless of party
There's garbage happening now that wouldn't have been possible under Bush. I don't fear the boogymen anymore.

12. There were *DEMOCRATIC* alternatives early on; it wasn't just a question of...
...Obama vs. McCain. We "chose" the most- or second-most
corporate-friendly candidate running from our side and
he's been governing entirely true to form.

3. imo the disillusionment goes beyond the president - it's about the...
...whole government - all branches being run by the same corporate entities, when we were brought up believing in government of, by and for the people.

5. I always was an Edwards supporter
but many people got dillusioned with him too.

But he only screwed one campaign worker, not the entire working class of America.

7. I voted for the man knowing he was a corporate suit. Why?
Because John McCain should NEVER be POTUS. EVER. Oh and I had all that 'hope' ideology floating around in my head.
