Brain Cancer. Hope. Fear. Unconditional Love.
I'm posting this in support of my brother, my only sibling, and a rock-solid conservative guy who loves his kids more than life itself.

His prognosis is poor. He begins his chemotherapy and radiation treatments next week. Stage 4 brain cancer.

The tumor in his brain was removed a couple of weeks ago. It was cancerous.

brotherdeshazer is just a regular guy. He loves his kids. I am their uncle. He got the shitty end of the stick.

We disagree on everything politically, but we are pulling together.

I hope America can be a family and do the same in these trying times.

Here's to family in difficult times:

We found out recently that our cousin with twin toddlers is battling non-Hodgkins lymphoma (stage 3), the same kind her mother had (she passed away the same year my mother did). We are still grieving the loss of her mom--can't imagine going through cancer again w/out a mother to stand with you.

27. Sorry, but have him TRY CANNABIS Therapy...
http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/12088.php

Researchers in Spain have discovered that a cannabis extract makes brain tumors shrink by halting the growth of blood vessels that supply the tumors with life. Cannabis has chemicals called cannabinoids, these are the chemicals that could effectively starve tumors to death, say the researchers.

The study was carried out at the Complutense University, Madrid, Spain.

The team used mice to demonstrate that the cannabinoids block vessel growth.

You can read about this latest research in the journal Cancer Research.

Apparently, the procedure is also effective in humans.

The Spanish team, led by Dr Manuel Guzmn, wanted to see whether they could prevent glioblastoma multiforme cancer from growing by cutting off its blood supply. Glioblastoma multiforme is one of the most difficult cancers to treat - it seldom responds to any medical intervention, such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgery.

The scientists knew that cannabinoids will block the growth of blood vessels (to tumors) in mice - they wanted to find out whether the same thing would happen with humans.

38. get him to try the hashoil treatment
Edited on Tue Feb-15-11 03:55 AM by reggie the dog
hundreds of people have been cured by ingesting hashoil, some who were in stage 4. since the 1970's and the tashkin study the anti cancer properties of cannabis and its active ingredient thc have been know but suppressed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjhT9282-Tw full version here http://www.youtube.com/user/chrychek this man cured himself and has been curing many others in Canada with hashoil and i suggest that you read into it and watch the movie "running from the cure" at stage 4 there is really no harm in eating a drop of hash oil 3 times a day and there is mounting scientific evidence that cannabis does indeed slow/stop tumor development and kill existing cancer cells by messing up the blood flow going to the cancer cells. this video here is from a man who quit chemo therapy and did the hash oil therapy and lived and has helped cure many other people http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPm0Jq9bj98

read into anti cancer properties of cannabis and get your brother to give it a try, at stage 4 he has nothing to lose even if he doesnt like grass.

http://brinnananda.blogspot.com/2009/08/new-study-affirms-cannabis-anti-cancer.html

EVEN TERMINAL CASES WERE REVERSED!

this is telling of the anti cancer properties in french from TF2, our mainstream over the air channel 2 http://forums.france2.fr/france2/jtfrance2/cannabis-fatale-cancer-sujet_16869_1.htm which then links to the actual scientific study about a study done by scientists in Marseille France explaining that thc kills some cancer cells http://www.sciencesetavenir.fr/actualite/sante/20060419.OBS4434/le-thc-provoque-la-mort-de-certaines-cellules-tumorales.html

Edited on Tue Feb-15-11 01:05 PM by mistertrickster
My nephew and his family are all solid CONs. He had a truck accident that injured his spinal cord.

So . . . a few years go by, and now he wants stem cell therapy.

Really? Stem cell therapy.

You mean the therapy that would have resulted if BushCONs hadn't banned it for eight years?

That stem cell therapy?

Sheesh.

On edit--sorry, I don't have much sympathy for CONs these days now that they've declared all out class war on the rest of us.

And they're winning BIG TIME.

It breaks my heart that you are going through this. I hope that both of you will be open to what Bennyboy and reggie the dog posted regarding alternative treatments.

I am the same age as your brother and I had a (benign) brain tumor removed two years ago. You really learn how fleeting life is, and I know I am grateful to have my brother there for me.

Even if brotherdeshazer has a poor prognosis, why don't we shoot for a miracle? It doesn't hurt. :grouphug: I will send prayers and good vibes, also.

a few years ago. Brain cancer, kids, exact opposite ends of the political spectrum. I understand what you're going through *hugs*

Just spend lots of time together and be super supportive of him, his wife, and his kids.

"His prognosis is poor" can mean things will deteriorate quickly, or things may actually get better and he may be ok for a few years. You really just never know and I hope that you all have as much time together as possible. Hang in there!!
