Michigan Governor Snyder (R) to raise taxes on Michigan business!!
So much for the campaign platform that said Michigan businesses need help! That he would eliminate red tape and help Michigan businesses. So what is his first thing he does... eliminate tax credits for Michigan businesses.

Now don't get me wrong, I think all businesses should pay taxes ....but to run on the platform that you would help businesses and that the Democratic Governor somehow didn't do her job well or right is a little two faced don't you think? He now is seeing what Granholm saw for 8 years. There is not enough revenue to cover expenses so SHE cut each year she was in with very little increases in any taxes. I don't recall her raising taxes during her term..but I do know she cut cut cut for eight years...all but education. She pretty much left education alone. (k-12)

So here we have the first budget from a Governor that said he was a businessman and he knows how to get businesses growing again. I guess that is raising taxes on them. Who would have known it would be that easy?

Could you IMAGINE the outrage from the Republicans had Granholm tried to raise taxes on businesses!! My God she would have been ...well I better not say it.

I did make a post in the Michigan forum on this topic...however this needs to be seen by more than Michiganders.

Gov. Rick Snyder (R) says he plans to ask lawmakers to wipe out billions in business tax exemptions when he presents his proposal next week for the budget year that starts Oct. 1.

Snyder has said he plans to review tax credits to see which are worth keeping, but hadn't said how many would be eliminated.

1. My nutcase congressman McCotter would have been foaming at
the mouth if Granholm even hinted at such a tax.

6. Hopefully more people will realize the
way republican politicians just say what their constituents want to hear.... just keep saying it.. it doesn't matter if it's true..just keep saying it...

We will lower taxes... We will lower taxes... We will lower taxes... We will lower taxes... We will lower taxes...

get in office... raise taxes.

2. Well, I hope when you commented on the Michigan board
you said "good for him, finally a repug that gets it" businesses have to start paying their share as do the "rich" (upper 1-2%ers) Repugs have a habit of quietly raising taxes when they finally figure out that they have to, so no one knows. (Like with Reagan, he raised taxes 11 times and to hear it from repugs there was a real tax holiday with him)

3. I still can't believe he got elected. Why does anyone believe this kind of B.S.?

I tried to tell people I knew that what he was selling was to good to be true, but Noooooo!!!!!

They bought it hook line and sinker.

I suppose that if I look for the silver lining here it is that Michigan should now raise more revenue and I get to tell some people "I told ya so" in the hopes that they will listen to me more closely in 2012.

I will never forget the one that end with him saying "and the jobs will just come back"..... I don't think he said "magically" but his high pitched voice made me think it that way..lol

also... people wanted a non politician...he fit the bill.

I guess we could have had Hoekstra as governor... that would have been a nightmare.

7. Cox would have sucked too
I guess we can live through this one, he seems to have run to the center as soon as he got elected.

You are right, it could have been worse.
